Colegio de San Juan de Letran Knights basketball player Chad Gammad has denied a social media post claiming that he and courtside reporter Apple David have broken up.

On Wednesday, September 2, the 18-year-old Filipino-Canadian basketball player shared an art card carrying the claim, “Apple David has confirmed her breakup with boyfriend Chad Gammad.”

The graphic also featured a photo of Gammad and David edited to appear torn in half, along with the word “HIWALAY NA!”

Gammad responded briefly to the claim.

“Pake news po kung nagtataka kayo,” he wrote, using a play on the phrase “fake news.”

His post directly disputed the claim that David had confirmed their breakup.

David separately addressed the circulating breakup post through social media.

In the comments section of one of her video posts, a netizen alerted her to the art card and wrote, “Ginagawan ka ng issue Ms. Apple haha pinagfifiestahan ka tiga ng mga BASHERS.”

David responded by suggesting that such posts were being made for engagement.

“Kanya-kanyang diskarte for engagement. Hayaan na lang if ’yan trip nila,” she replied.

She then joked that she would not be surprised if other claims about her personal life surfaced next.

“Won’t be surprised if pregnancy or wedding news naman after n’yan,” David added.

Neither Gammad nor David announced a breakup in the statements provided. Instead, Gammad explicitly described the circulating claim as fake news, while David dismissed the post as an attempt to generate engagement.

The two have previously shared photos and videos together on social media.
