Heath Jornales surprised his Buzzbears when James Reid joined him onstage during his first concert, ‘Heath’s Time,’ on Saturday at the New Frontier Theater.
The two performed a cozy rendition of James’ hit ‘Randomantic,’ drawing cheers from the audience as Heath fulfilled his dream of sharing the stage with someone he considers an idol and inspiration.
The moment was particularly meaningful for Heath after he was frequently compared to James during his stint on ‘Pinoy Big Brother Celebrity Collab Edition 2.0.’
Viewers had pointed out their resemblance, while both also share interests in music and acting.
During the concert, Heath asked the audience whether they thought he and James looked alike. James playfully responded that Heath was more handsome than him.
Heath said he considers being compared to James a compliment.
“I look up to you and everything na na-achieve mo sa music and as an artist. You’re my inspiration bro,” Heath told him.
James congratulated Heath on what he has already accomplished at a young age and encouraged him to stay grounded as his career develops.
“Congratulations. You’re still so young but you’ve come so far. It’s really awesome. You have a bright future. Take it easy. Just be yourself,” James said.
He also addressed the Buzzbears, encouraging them to love, support, and protect Heath without placing too much pressure on him. His message was for fans to remain behind the young artist while giving him the space to make mistakes, learn from them, and grow.
The surprise collaboration generated enthusiastic reactions on social media, with fans celebrating the opportunity to see Heath and James together.
Some Buzzbears are now hoping their ‘Randomantic’ duet will lead to another collaboration, this time in an acting project.
