Veteran actor John Arcilla has renewed his support for the proposed Citizen Access and Disclosure of Expenditures for National Accountability (CADENA) Act amid flooding incidents affecting various parts of the country.

On Facebook, the “Heneral Luna” star shared a post by content creator Jaycon Verallo urging fellow creators to use their platforms to amplify calls for the passage of Sen. Bam Aquino’s transparency measure.

“Calling all Content Creator na paingayin ang panukalang batas ni Bam Aquino ang ‘CADENA ACT,’” Verallo wrote.

“Walang kulay ang batas na ito. Dahil lahat ng Senador pabor dito, Kahit dito manlang magkaisa tayo,” he added.

The measure, Senate Bill No. 1506, was approved by the Senate on third and final reading on December 15, 2025, with 17 affirmative votes, no negative votes, and no abstentions.

Arcilla had previously expressed his support for the proposal, which seeks to establish a digital platform for government budget and transaction records.

“Ang panukalang ito ay hindi si Senator Bam Aquino ang makikinabang kundi ang Mamamayang Pilipino. Mabuhay po kayo Senator,” Arcilla wrote in an earlier Facebook post.

Under the Senate-approved measure, the government would establish a Digital Budget Portal designed to enhance transparency, accountability, and public participation in the budget process. The Senate bill calls for the disclosure of government transactions through the digital platform.

The proposal has also been promoted as a way of using digital technology, including blockchain-based mechanisms, to make government budget information more traceable and resistant to unauthorized alteration.

Arcilla is among several personalities from entertainment, music, sports, and digital media who have publicly backed calls for greater transparency in government spending through the proposed measure.

Among those who have expressed support are Edu Manzano, Pokwang, DJ JhaiHo, Aviona Starr, Lexi Mercader, and Kimifierce.

Other personalities, including Mark Escueta of Rivermaya, theater actor Phi Palmos, former “Pinoy Big Brother” housemate Justin Dizon, actress-comedienne Inah Evans, Andrea Guevarra, Enzo Bonoan, Moy Ortiz of The Company, Cooky Chua, Mela Habijan, and Aiman Borres have also engaged with or shared posts promoting the proposal.
