Filipino all-male novelty singing and dance group Masculados is making a renewed push in the music scene with the release of its latest single, ‘Saging,’ under Universal Records Philippines (URPh).

Known for novelty hits such as ‘Jumbo Hotdog,’ ‘Macho Papa,’ ‘Nakaka,’ ‘Lagot Ka,’ and ‘Sana Mama,’ the group is bringing back its signature playful style while incorporating a more updated sound for a new generation of listeners.
The official lyric video for ‘Saging’ has already been released, with the song drawing reactions from listeners who welcomed the return of novelty music. One commenter even predicted that the song could find an audience on short-form video platforms.
The official music video for “Saging” is set for release on Saturday, September 5.
At the media conference for their latest release, Masculados performed their classic hit “Jumbo Hotdog” before presenting ‘Saging.’
The music video, shot inside a gym, plays heavily on the group’s familiar muscular image while adopting a colorful retro aesthetic. The members sport gym outfits featuring short shorts and below-the-knee socks, giving the visuals an ’80s-inspired feel.
The current lineup consists of Robin Robel, Enrico “Eric” Mofar, Nico Cordova, Orlando Sol, David Karell, and Richard Yumul.
The group first rose to prominence in the 2000s and became particularly associated with the novelty-music wave through songs such as ‘Jumbo Hotdog’ and ‘Macho Papa.’
Masculados was previously managed by the late filmmaker and television director Maryo J. de los Reyes.
Their return comes at a time when Filipino pop acts such as SB19 and BINI have built large audiences locally and internationally. Masculados, however, occupies a different lane with its novelty-driven music and performance style.
Aside from releasing music under Universal Records Philippines, Masculados has also signed with Galaxy Entertainment Management.
The companies are preparing additional projects for the group, including another single expected to be released in the coming months.
International performances are also being lined up. An Australia engagement is being prepared for November, while plans for shows in Japan and the Middle East are also being developed.
A larger concert for Masculados is likewise among the projects being considered.
URPh Managing Director and Head Kathleen Dy-Go also clarified that the decision to work with Masculados was not prompted by the renewed attention surrounding another iconic Filipino performance group, the SexBomb Girls.
According to Dy-Go, Masculados had already signed with the company the previous year. She also noted that the members had continued performing live even before signing their new contract.
