Nina may be calling her upcoming concert ‘NINA XX: The Repeat,’ but the Soul Siren says audiences should not expect a simple restaging of her previous show.

Following the response to her sold-out ‘NINA XX: The Anniversary Celebration’ in May, Nina returns to the Newport Performing Arts Theater on September 24 with a refreshed version of the concert featuring new songs, additional elements, and a different lineup of guest performers.

“Repeat na unrepeat,” Nina said with a smile during a recent press conference.

She explained that while several songs from the first anniversary concert will remain in the setlist, significant additions have been prepared for the September show.

“Repeat kasi andun pa rin yung ibang songs na kinanta from the first one,” she said. “Pero siyempre, we added new elements and we added new songs din. Tapos may mga bago akong kasama.”

Joining Nina onstage are Christian Bautista, Top Suzara, and Thor Dulay, bringing together several established voices from the Philippine music scene.

Christian also has a connection to an important chapter of Nina’s career, having been featured on her hit ‘Nina Live!’ album.

Among the collaborations lined up for the evening is Nina and Thor’s performance of ‘The Closer I Get to You.’

Beyond revisiting her two decades in music, ‘NINA XX: The Repeat’ will also offer a glimpse of what Nina is planning next.

Concert director Calvin Neria revealed that Nina will perform a full Tagalog original song during the show—an unusual choice for the singer, whose catalog and signature covers have largely featured English-language material.

Nina said the song will serve as a clue to another musical project she is preparing.

“Kasi I don’t usually sing Tagalog songs. But this time, I will do one na clue rin sa susunod kung gagawin musically-speaking in a few months as part of a pre-Valentine’s show,” she shared.

The teaser points to another concert project in 2027, giving fans something to anticipate beyond the September performance.

Nina broke into the mainstream music scene in the early 2000s and went on to become one of the recognizable voices of Philippine R&B. Songs associated with her career include ‘Jealous,’ ‘Foolish Heart,’ and ‘Love Moves in Mysterious Ways,’ while ‘Nina Live!’ became one of the defining releases in her discography.
