RMA Studio Academy is preparing to turn the stage into a musical journey across countries, cultures, and generations with its upcoming 4th Grand Annual Concert, “Destination: The World Stage.”
The academy gave members of the media a preview of the production during an intimate launch on September 15, bringing together some of its celebrity students, young performers, coaches, and special guests ahead of the November concert.
Set for November 5 at The Proscenium Theater at Rockwell Center in Makati City, the concert is expected to feature more than 30 songs, combining familiar classics with contemporary international hits. Rather than following a single musical era or genre, the show is designed around the idea of movement—taking audiences from one destination to another through the performances of RMA’s students and celebrity talents.
The media launch offered an early glimpse of that concept, with live performances giving the event the feel of a rehearsal room meeting a concert preview.
Among those who joined the launch were actress and RMA celebrity student Ina Raymundo, actress Rhian Ramos, and award-winning soprano Jade Riccio, who also serves as an RMA coach.
Raymundo took the stage for a special performance, adding a more seasoned presence to an event that also put the spotlight on the academy’s younger performers. Her participation reflects the mix of established personalities and emerging talents that will define the November concert.
Ramos, meanwhile, shared her enthusiasm for performing with the academy’s young artists. Having been part of RMA Studio Academy for several years, she has also had the opportunity to watch the students develop their confidence and musical abilities over time.
That relationship between mentors, celebrity students, and younger performers is central to the concert. “Destination: The World Stage” will feature 48 RMA student performers, with the participants taking on solo, duet, trio, and band numbers.
The production will also have the scale of a full concert, with a 25-piece orchestra from the Philippine Events Orchestra providing live musical accompaniment. The orchestra will be led by Musical Director and Conductor Dr. Lester Delgado.
Adding to the lineup are RMA celebrity students Michelle Dee, Zia Dantes, Scarlet Belo, Pepe Herrera, Vivoree Esclito, and Jema Galanza, alongside Raymundo and Ramos.
The variety of performers is part of what gives the concert its distinct character. Instead of placing the spotlight solely on the academy’s celebrity students, the production creates space for young performers to share the stage with personalities from different fields, allowing the concert to function as both a showcase and a learning experience.
One of the anticipated moments of the program is a special duet featuring Riccio and a surprise celebrity guest. The identity of the guest has not been revealed, leaving that portion of the November show as one of the production’s surprises.
A portion of the concert proceeds will benefit ASP, while five ASP scholars are expected to perform alongside RMA students. Their inclusion gives the concert another dimension, placing inclusion alongside the academy’s focus on music education and performance.
For the young performers, the Proscenium Theater stage represents more than simply a venue for a year-end concert. The production allows them to apply the skills they have developed through their training in front of a live audience, alongside professional musicians, coaches, and more experienced performers.
The media launch also highlighted the collaborative nature of the production. With a large student cast, celebrity participants, coaches, a full orchestra, and multiple musical formats, the November concert is being shaped as an ensemble effort rather than a showcase centered on a single performer.
The choice of “Destination: The World Stage” as the concert’s theme also reflects the academy’s intention to expose its students to music that extends beyond the local scene. Through familiar songs from different generations and contemporary global selections, the performers will explore how music can connect people despite differences in background, age, and culture.
For audiences, the concert promises a combination of live vocals, band performances, orchestral arrangements, and individual showcases. For the performers, it is an opportunity to step beyond the classroom and experience the demands and excitement of a larger theatrical production.
As RMA Studio Academy moves closer to November 5, the preview has already established the central idea behind the concert: the world stage is not necessarily a distant destination, but a place young performers can begin working toward through training, collaboration, and the courage to perform.
