Dennis Trillo is calling for an end to online bashing amid the renewed controversy involving his wife Jennylyn Mercado and her former partner Patrick Garcia, urging netizens to move past the issue for the sake of the children involved.

After drawing attention for his witty and seemingly pointed social media posts, the Kapuso actor took a more conciliatory approach in a Threads post on Thursday evening, October 1.
“Simula bukas, tigil na po ang bashing ok? Magmahalan na tayo ulit, past is past, magpapasko na at kawawa na ang mga bata,” Dennis wrote.
His appeal came as discussions surrounding Patrick’s recent interview with Ogie Diaz continued to generate reactions online, with members of both families being dragged into the controversy.
Dennis’ post also prompted humorous responses from netizens, some of whom joked that the actor might have been reprimanded by Jennylyn.
“Napagalitan ka ni Jen no?” one commenter wrote.
Another jokingly asked whether the online exchanges could continue until the weekend, while promising not to involve the children.
Dennis previously attracted attention after sharing social media posts that netizens interpreted as reactions to Patrick’s decision to revisit his past with Jennylyn.
In one Instagram Story, Dennis expressed his opposition to online attacks while referring to Patrick’s stated reason for finally speaking publicly.
“Hindi ako pabor sa bashing. Pero salamat at naalala mo si Jazz dahil na-bash ang anak mo. Spread love, not hate,” he wrote.
The actor also amused followers with a reel showing his red tote bag bearing the words “Not Today Satan,” playfully asking viewers, “Ano ang bag mo?”
Although Dennis did not name Patrick in his latest Threads appeal, the message followed days of online discussion surrounding the former couple.
Patrick recently appeared on Ogie Diaz Inspires, where he disputed the long-standing claim that he abandoned Jennylyn during her pregnancy with their son, Jazz.
He maintained that he had wanted to be involved but claimed communication between them eventually broke down.
Patrick also explained that his daughter Michelle had encouraged him to share his side after their family received persistent criticism online.
Jennylyn, meanwhile, has declined to publicly respond to Patrick’s account.
Through Aguila Entertainment, the actress said she preferred to respect the privacy and peace of mind of both families. She also specifically appealed to the public to stop attacking Patrick’s family, particularly Michelle.
