Social media personality and content creator Macoy Dubs has clarified that he is not affiliated with the controversial podcast ‘Machong Chismisan’, after online reports and posts mistakenly linked him to the show amid the backlash over remarks about Josh Aquino.

In a Facebook statement posted on October 16, 2026, Macoy Dubs, whose real name is Mark Averilla, appealed to the public to verify names and spellings before sharing information online.
“Hi. I would like to clear my name. I am Mark Averilla, aka MACOY DUBS. I started my career in content creation in 2017,” he began.
Averilla specified that his podcast projects have been ‘Charot Readings’, where he appeared as ‘Madam Tarot’ from 2022 to 2023, and ‘Dogshow Divas’, which he has been involved in from 2025 to 2026.
“The only podcast I did in my existence was CHAROT READINGS as Madam Tarot [2022-2023] and currently, DOGSHOW DIVAS. [2025-2026],” he stated.
He stressed that he is not the same person as Makoy Pare, identified as one of the hosts of ‘Machong Chismisan’.
“I have been reading fake news about my name’s involvement in the recent podcast topic. Please know that we are not the same person ano po? Internet people have been sending messages on my socials and it’s stressing me out. Mag probe po tayo ng mga pangalan at spelling,” Averilla said.
He also expressed concern over the spread of misinformation, adding, “Palala na po ng palala ang krisis sa edukasyon sa bansang ito.”
The clarification comes amid the controversy surrounding ‘Machong Chismisan’ after a clip from its episode titled ‘Ang Pagbabalik ni Kris Aquino’ circulated online. During the discussion, one of the hosts made a disparaging remark about Kris Aquino’s sons, Josh and Bimby Aquino.
“Si Bimby sobrang okay na anak, si Josh walang kuwenta eh,” the host said, prompting laughter from others in the discussion.
The remark triggered widespread criticism, with netizens and public figures calling out the podcast over its treatment of Josh. The controversy has since drawn further attention to the identities of the people involved, prompting Averilla to make clear that he is not part of the program.
