Nikka Garcia appeared to express her support for husband Patrick Garcia through an affectionate Instagram Story amid renewed criticism surrounding his past relationship with Jennylyn Mercado.

On Tuesday, September 29, the same day Patrick’s interview with showbiz insider Ogie Diaz was released, Nikka shared a quote card expressing gratitude for having a loving and dependable husband.

“I won in this life. I fell in love with a good man and I’ll never stop being grateful for that. A self-made man. A hardworking man. A gentle man and safe man. A man who takes care of me in all the ways that matter,” the post read.

Nikka tagged Patrick’s Instagram account and added the caption, “Lavyew.”

Although Nikka did not mention Jennylyn, Jazz, or Patrick’s recent interview, the timing of her post drew attention amid the backlash against her husband.

Her message was not a direct rebuttal to the allegations or a statement about Patrick’s past relationship. Rather, it appeared to be a personal expression of appreciation for Patrick as her husband, offering him indirect support while the controversy continued online.

In his interview with Diaz, Patrick denied abandoning Jennylyn when she became pregnant with their son, Jazz, nearly two decades ago.

“Sa mga bashers na bina-bash ako, they hate me so much because they’re saying na iniwanan ko si Jen. No, that’s not true! Hindi ko iniwanan si Jen,” he said.

“I was never there for Jen during her pregnancy, not because I didn’t want to be there, but because she didn’t want me to be there,” Patrick added.

The actor claimed that his attempts to communicate with Jennylyn had been unsuccessful. He also discussed why he had not spent time with Jazz since December 2017.

Patrick explained that he finally decided to speak publicly because the criticism surrounding his past had begun affecting his family, particularly Michelle, his eldest daughter with Nikka.

According to Patrick, Michelle encouraged him to share his side after receiving negative comments online.

Jennylyn, meanwhile, has opted not to publicly respond to Patrick’s version of events.

Through Aguila Entertainment, the actress said she would not grant interviews or issue comments regarding his statements out of respect for the privacy and peace of mind of both families.

She also specifically appealed to the public to stop attacking Patrick’s family.

“Jennylyn asks the public to stop the hate and refrain from bashing Patrick’s family, especially his daughter, Michelle,” the agency stated.

Jennylyn’s longtime manager Becky Aguila, however, separately questioned Patrick’s decision to discuss their past publicly, saying he could have reached out to her to address his concerns privately.

Dennis Trillo also reacted through an Instagram Story.

“Hindi ako pabor sa bashing. Pero salamat at naalala mo si Jazz dahil na-bash ang anak mo. Spread love, not hate,” he wrote.

For her part, Nikka has not issued a direct statement addressing Jennylyn or the conflicting accounts surrounding Patrick’s past. Her Instagram Story remained a personal message of love for her husband rather than an explicit response to the controversy.
