Social media personality Xander Ford, whose real name is Marlou Arizala, has responded to netizens mocking his appeal for another chance in show business, explaining that he simply wants to earn a living and provide a better future for his family.

The former internet sensation sparked online discussion after posting a photo of himself at the GMA Network headquarters on Wednesday, October 21, 2026, accompanied by a public request for employment.
In his Facebook post, Xander directly appealed to the network’s management, expressing his willingness to accept a role as a comedian.
“Nananawagan po ako sa bumubuo at owner ng GMA Network. Baka puwede niyo po ako bigyan ng work kahit isang komedyante lang po,” he wrote.
However, his appeal drew mixed reactions, with some netizens criticizing his choice of words, particularly the phrase “kahit isang komedyante lang,” which they felt diminished the profession.
On Thursday, October 22, Xander uploaded a video addressing those who ridiculed his attempt to return to television.
“Pinagtatawanan n’yo ako. Habang ito, nangangarap ulit ako na sana makabalik ako sa dati kong trabaho, na magkaroon ulit ako ng mga shows, magkaroon ulit ako ng mga taping,” he said.
The internet personality recalled starting out as an extra in television productions, accepting small payments and sometimes working without compensation just to gain experience.
“It’s been decades noong nag-start talaga ako na mag-extra-extra ako sa TV. Pinakamalaki kong sinahod, siguro mga 700, 300, minsan libre pa nga, e. Basta makasama lang ako sa mga taping,” he shared.
For Xander, returning to television is not simply about regaining popularity but about securing opportunities in an industry where he previously worked.
Now a husband and father, Xander explained that his priorities have changed since he first gained public attention.
“This time, syempre, may anak na ako, may pamilya na ako. Ang gusto talaga is makaipon na ako para sa sarili ko at para pamilya ko,” he said.
He emphasized that he still has talents he wants to develop and demonstrate, hoping television executives will consider giving him another opportunity.
“Sana mabigyan tayo ng chance. Marami pa rin ang magbukas sa atin na offer… gusto ko talagang i-mention ’yong mga boss sa GMA kasi marami pa akong gustong patunayan sa sarili ko, marami pa akong gustong ipakita na mga talent ko,” he added.
In a separate social media post, Xander also appealed to netizens not to report his livestreams, explaining that these currently serve as his source of income.
Xander first gained widespread attention in 2017 following a highly publicized physical transformation that turned him into one of the most talked-about personalities on Philippine social media. His sudden popularity opened opportunities in entertainment, although his public career has since been marked by periods of controversy and fluctuating online attention. Nearly a decade after his viral breakthrough, Xander is hoping to find a place in the entertainment industry once again.
As of writing, GMA Network has not publicly announced any job offer or upcoming project involving him.
