Kapamilya and Kapuso have earned equal footing in this year’s most-watched TV show of 2017.
Just like the rankings for the most-watched pilot and finale episodes, the overall most-watched program also comes in two lists because of AGB Nielsen’s 2 data sets for this year; NUTAM Household and NUTAM People.
From January – March, AGB Nielsen implemented NUTAM Household which hailed Coco Martin’s “FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano” with GMA Network’s “Miss Universe 2016” telecast on top while April up to the present AGB-Nielsen uses NUTAM People crowning “Encantadia” as its most-watched TV program in 2017.

ABS-CBN and GMA Network shared top spot in this year’s most-watched TV show under the NUTAM Household data set.
The long-running primetime action teleserye “FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano” tied with GMA Network’s coverage of the “2016 Miss Universe Pageant” in the number one spot scoring 27.1% ratings.
“FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano” has been a consistent top rater throughout the year but this year’s most watched episode was aired February 28, 2017.
The Miss Universe 2016 on the other hand, which was staged at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City Philippines was aired on January 30, 2017. Note that the pageant was aired on all three major networks of the country (ABS-CBN, GMA Network, and TV5) but GMA Network’s coverage got the highest ratings score.
Nine other Kapamilya shows made it to the top 20 while 14 Kapuso shows penetrated the most watched list.
Following “FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano” and “Miss Universe 2016” in the rankings are “Encantadia” (January 23) with 26.6% ratings, “Your Face Sounds Familiar Kids” with 25.5%, “Wansapanataym” which scored 24.6% and tied in the number 5 spot is Kapuso newscast “24 Oras” and “drama anthology” “Magpakailanman” with 24.5% ratings.
other programs which made it to the list are It’s Showtime (6th) 23.1%, Kapuso Mo Jessica Soho (7th) with 23.0%, Alyas Robin Hood 1 (8th) 22.7%, AlDub’s Destined to be Yours (9th) with 22.5% and Kapamilya inspirational serye My Dear Heart in number 10 with 21.9%.
Meanwhile, the programs which fall on the 11th to 20th place are as follows.

AGB-Nielsen NUTAM People
If Kapamilya topped the NUTAM Household rankings, NUTAM People was topped by GMA Network’s “Encantadia”.
“Encantadia” got the highest ratings of 13.6% ratings on April 16 to lead the ranking for NUTAM People’s most-watched TV show of 2017.
Following “Encantadia” closely in the number 2 position is “FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano” with 13.3% and not far away also is the 3rd placer “Kapuso Mo Jessica Soho” with 13.0%.
Completing the top 5 for NUTAM People are “Magpakailanman” 12.1% and “My Dear Heart” 11.5%.
A total of 21 Kapuso shows made it to the top 20 while ABS-CBN had 7 shows in the most watched TV shows of 2017 for NUTAM People.
