  • Anne Curtis hosted a fund-raising campaign for the children of Marawi
  • The campaign happened during the London Marathon by UNICEF
  • She was able to collect Php 1,014,498 worth of donations

Marawi is still undergoing rehabilitation process after the destructive terrorist siege. Everyone is doing their own part in helping rebuild Marawi.

Anne Curtis also does her part to contribute to the rehabilitation. She joined the London Marathon lately for UNICEF and was able to get over Php 500,000 worth of donations.

Anne earlier promised that she will double whatever amount is accumulated during the event. Now, the final sum is Php 1,014,498. The said funds will be donated to the children of Marawi.

On her Instagram post, he mentioned that they’ve reached 603% more than the expected target and gave a heartfelt gratitude to everyone who contributed. “I saw that there were people from all over the world leaving encouraging messages. Maraming salamat po… but the true winners here are the children of Marawi,” she wrote.

It hit her when she saw the photos of Marawi aftermath. They were presented to her by UNICEF Philippines representative Lotta Sylwander. It triggered her passion to host a fund-raising campaign for the poor children of Marawi.

“The aftermath of the war has greatly affected their lives. Their families have been displaced, some don’t have access to basic social needs such as education and healthcare,” she said. “This may be a small amount compared to what needs to be done but as I say, any help can go a long way.”
