Kate Valdez currently stars in new Kapuso drama series, Onanay. The said primetime series started to air on August 6, Monday; and she recently reacted on being identified as Liza Soberano‘s look-alike.
On being Liza’s look-a-like.
When people started pointing out Valdez’s similarities with Soberano, she started to receive hate comments and harsh criticisms. Observations surfaced and allegations on how Kate may have intentionally copied Liza to look attractive and relevant at the same time. She, however, never really tried to retaliate.
“Actually, hindi naman po ganun kalaking bash yun. Yung mga sinasabi lang na mas maganda si Liza, pero tanggap ko naman po yun, e.”
Kate humbly stated that Liza is way better than her.
“I mean, it’s okay with me at hindi po kailangang makipag-kumpetensiya. Alam ko naman po. Totoo na mas maganda talaga sa akin si Liza.”
On being compared.
Kate only gets affected when hate comments and harsh criticisms get too personal. Despite all those. she still respect the opinion of the public.
“Kapag lang po napupunta na sa personal. Kapag masyado nang bad. Kasi, parang wait, teka lang, tao rin ako, may nararamdaman din. Pero, siyempre po, it’s their opinion and I respect it.”
For Kate, she still felt flattered on being compared to Liza.
“Yes po, it’s flattering pero siyempre, may kapalit din po kapag ganun na pinupuri kami. Pero ganun po, take it or leave it.”
