In 2018, Kapuso actor Juancho Triviño experienced bashing from AlDub fans after being linked to Maine Mendoza. In an interview with PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal), he was asked when the bashing stopped.
According to him: “Hindi ko po alam. Hindi ko rin po napansin. Kasi madalas ako mag-social media detox, every now and then. Siyempre kailangan sa trabaho ko ang social media, and siyempre dun kami naba-bash. So, every now and then, I would shut down my phone, delete my Instagram and Twitter apps para siyempre mas makapag-concentrate ako sa trabaho ko. Mas nakakapag-concentrate ako.”
That’s why he did not notice that the bashing has slowly stopped. He pointed out that he was not offended but somehow he’s affected by it. He doesn’t mind the bashing as long as he’s family is not involved.
“Hindi naman ako nasaktan, pero mas naapektuhan ako, as would anyone, maaapektuhan sila siyempre kapag idinadamay na yung mga walang kamalay-malay na importante sa buhay namin. Kapag idinadamay na yung family members. Sa lahat naman ng artista siyempre, ganun sila nakaka-offend, dun talaga. Isa na rin yun sa mga reasons kung bakit I started the social media detox.”
Last February 20, PEP.ph had a chance to talk to Juancho during the taping of the GMA Afternoon Prime series, ‘Asawa Ko, Karibal Ko’ in Quezon City.
According to the article on PEP.ph: “Isa rin marahil sa dahilan kung bakit natigil ang pamba-bash kay Juancho ay dahil sa pag-amin ng Kapamilya actor na si Arjo Atayde na “exclusively dating” na sila ni Maine.”
They also asked Juancho about his reaction on it.
“Well, I’m very happy for them, kung iyon ang ikasasaya nila. I’m good friends naman with them, e,” he said.
He also shared that Arjo and him knew each other prior to Arjo’s revelation of exclusively dating Maine Mendoza. “Si Arjo kasi is a friend of my ate, yung ate ko na non-showbiz.”
According to him, despite not talking that much to Maine, their friendship has remained the same. “Hindi na kasing dalas nung before dahil barkada kami dati, pero ngayon hindi na masyado.”
PEP also asked him if he knew about the relationship status of Maine and Arjo. “Medyo busy rin ako, e, kasi I’m doing three shows ngayon.”
Juancho is part of ‘Asawa Ko, Karibal Ko,’ ‘Bubble Gang,’ and ‘Unang Hirit.’ On the other hand, Juancho and Arjo don’t have each other’s mobile number. “Hindi naman kami… ano kami, acquaintance kami.”
Juancho Triviño on Maine Mendoza and Arjo Atayde’s blooming relationship: “I’m very happy for them, kung iyon ang ikasasaya nila. I’m good friends naman with them, e.”
