It is saddening to learn about most Kapamilya love teams have decided to part ways in real life or in reel life.
One of the recent heartbreaking tandem split ups is that of Julia Barretto and Joshua Garcia or better known as JoshLia. Their love team starred several successful projects, not to mention a legion of followers. However, Barretto recently decided to be a solo artist which made her the star in the movie Between Maybes with Gerald Anderson.
Their controversial kissing scene in the movie was rumored to be the cause of JoshLia‘s breakup.
Despite their rumored breakup in reel and real life, Garcia and Barretto will soon team up in an upcoming zombie movie Block Z.
The Elmo Magalona and Janella Salvador loveteam known as ElNella have decided to go separate ways due to personal reasons.
Their break up was rumored to be brought about physical hurting.
While Barbie Imperial who was known for her tandem with JM de Guzman as JuanBie in the 2018 afternoon soap Araw Gabi, declined a project with him which is supposed to establish them as a solid love team.
It was also confirmed that McLisse or Elisse Joson and McCoy de Leon also opted to turn down their team up projects due to personal concerns. It was rumored that Ellise’s mother, Christine Joson-Diuco, an anesthesiologist was the one to be blamed for.
Another love team, DonKiss was also confirmed to be a love team no more. Kisses Delavin was the one who confirmed the separation from partner Donny Pangilinan. The pair starred in the movie Walwal and noontime series Playhouse.
Despite the breakups, KathNiel (Katnryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla), LizQuen (Liza Soberano and Enrique Gil) and JaDine (James Reid and Nadine Lustre) remain solid.
Bernardo and Padilla recently celebrated their seven-year relationship. The couple’s relationship could be traced in 2012 but it was only in August last year when they confirmed about their relationship during an interview for the promo of their movie The Hows of Us.
The two started working together in ABS-CBN youth-oriented program Growing Up in 2011. But it was in 2012 when the KathNiel love team was officially born via the teleserye Princess and I.
Another sweet couple, Soberano and Gil. Both revealed to be officially together starting from the year their love team was formed. Liza admitted during a Tonight with Boy Abunda episode that she has been officially in a relationship with Enrique since 2014.
In a February 10 episode of Gandang Gabi Vice, Soberano said that their anniversary is in October, but did not give a specific year. They became onscreen pair since 2014’s Forevermore.
And who would not know about the three-year relationship of James Reid and Nadine Lustre? They became an official couple in 2016 after working together on their first teleserye On The Wings of Love. James admitted on a Gandang Gabi Vice episode that he and girlfriend Nadine are living together. The speculations of them living-in together was confirmed and ended in that episode.
