Just like primetime, noontime is another timeslot that is heavily contested. And for the week of July 22 to 26, 2019, both networks emerged victorious in pre-noontime and noontime programming.
ABS-CBN’s Nang Ngumiti Ang Langit continues to dominate the pre-noontime programming.
The Kapamilya light family drama outscored Kapuso rival Kapuso Movie for the whole week to take the throne of the pre-noontime timeslot.
Nang Ngumiti Ang Langit scored highest on Thursday, July 25, leading Kapuso Movie by 3.5% at 7.9% vs 4.4% respectively. It is when Michael, played by RK Bagatsing, found out that Katrina (Cristine Reyes) still has the marriage certificate of Ella’s (Kaye Abad) mom to Gabriel Salvador.
The week was also highlighted by Divina (Pilar Pilapil) finding out the real result of Michael and Amber’s paternity test.
Meanwhile, for the noontime variety show rivalry, Eat Bulaga! dominated the week leaving It’s Showtime trailing.
Eat Bulaga!, which is currently having a month-long celebration for their 40th anniversary, won the majority of the week.
From Tuesday to Friday, Eat Bulaga! was on top of noontime programming.
Eat Bulaga!’s highest lead was recorded on Friday, July 26, when it lead It’s Showtime by 2.0% at 7.7% vs 5.7%.
Although Eat Bulaga! controlled most of the week’s ratings board, It’s Showtime managed to win the first day of the week. It’s Showtime won over Eat Bulaga! on Monday, July 22, 6.6% vs 6.2% or a gap of 0.4%.
