Abante reported that Ai-Ai de las Alas will be part of a new program that will replace “Startalk.” next month.

The announcement will be made after the show celebrates its 20th anniversary on September 12, 2015. The Philippine Comedy Queen currently appears weekly on “Sunday PINASaya.”

“Startalk” is GMA 7’s longest-running weekly entertainment talk show that has aired over a thousand episodes.

However, it failed to get high ratings recently. Based on figures obtained from Kantar Media, the show only scored 8.6% compared to rival news program “Failon Ngayon” which got 12.2% last week.

“Startalk” also failed to make it to the list of the Top 20 most-watched programs in urban cities nationwide released by AGB Nielsen on Saturday, August 8, 2015.

GMA 7 management earlier told the cast to deliver breaking entertainment news ahead of social media in a bid to get better ratings. The network has yet to issue a statement on the new program that will replace “Startalk.”
