Presidential daughter and Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte blasted ABS-CBN News’ headline about her defense on President Rodrigo Duterte’s trip to Davao City.
On her Instagram account, Inday Sara posted a screenshot of the ABS-CBN News article with the headline, Sara Duterte defends father’s Davao trip: President is frontliner. It didn’t sit well with the Davao City Mayor who slammed ABS-CBN News for not including her other statements.
“Alam niyo Abs-Cbn kaya marami naiinis sa inyo dahil nanadya kayo. Apart from this sassy answer, I gave a mouthful of numbers as legal basis, aba kahit isa wala man lang kayo sinulat. Ansabe ko IATF Omnibus Guide dated 15 May 2020 Sec. 7 (2) 2 at Notam DIA exemption to restricted travel 2) Government flights,” she said.
However, upon checking the article, the argument she mentioned was also cited.
“Duterte-Carpio also cited Section 7, number 2 of the Omnibus Guidelines on the Implementation of Community Quarantine in the Philippines, where “movement as such of the following person within and across areas placed under any form of community quarantine shall be permitted: government officials and government frontline personnel,” said the ABS-CBN News article.
Meanwhile, the Davao City Mayor also blasted ABS-CBN and their fight for the renewal of their franchise.
Inday Sara said, ABS-CBN already has so many enemies so they shouldn’t attract more. She also added that the network’s fight for their franchise is not in any way connected to freedom of speech.
“Andami niyo na nga kalaban gusto niyo pa dagdagan. Kung sabagay pasok naman na sila Espasol, Sapin-Sapin at Chicharon sa bulsa eh noh, 6 months to 25 years. So tuloy lang tayo sa bias. Magsulat kayo maayos oi. And for the record, walang connection ang freedom of speech at iba pang kieme ninyo sa isang franchise. Amen,” she added.
President Duterte over the weekend flew to Davao City after easing the lockdown on Metro Manila to Modified Enhanced Community Quarantine.
Presidential Security Group earlier said that Duterte missed his family in Davao whom he didn’t see in more than 2 months since the lockdown.
“Yes. He is in Davao for a visit after more than two months of not being able to see his family. He will be back for the next IATF meeting,” said (PSG) commander Col. Jesus Durante III.
