The Aces tap Snakehips for remix of hit ‘Daydream’

September 10th, 2020 – Singapore – Pop prodigies The Aces have recruited DJ duo and hitmakers Snakehips to craft the official remix of “Daydream.”

The lead single off The Aces’ acclaimed sophomore album, ‘Under My Influence’, Snakehips take “Daydream” in a fresh direction, kicking off with a flurry of synths as the track crescendos into a buoyant bassline and high-powered percussion. Playing off lead singer Cristal Ramirez’s melodic vocals, Snakehips are able to spin the irresistible and electrifying track into a house-infused hit.

“Snakehips has been one of our favorite electronic artists since we heard ‘All My Friends’ back in 2015,” says The Aces. “Having them remix our song has only made us more obsessed, and now we can’t wait to go off to their club mix of ‘Daydream’ when we can all go out again. But for now, we are raging to it from home.”

The release comes off the heels of the band’s livestream concert of ‘Under My Influence’, which debuted on Billboard’s Emerging Artists and Heatseekers Albums Charts, and on Rolling Stone’s Breakthrough 25 Artists for July. Tracks “Daydream”, “Lost Angeles”, “My Phone Is Trying to Kill Me” and “Kelly” off the album have received phenomenal support from Apple Music, Spotify and KKBOX, landing spots on prime playlists on the respective platforms across 15 countries in Asia.

It’s been two years since The Aces released their acclaimed debut album, ‘When My Heart Felt Volcanic’. In those two years, the band sold out their headline US tour, supported 5 Seconds of Summer, and spent countless hours documenting everything in-between in the songs that make up ‘Under My Influence’. This isn’t just an album brimming with honesty, it’s an album brimming with trust—trust in themselves, as individuals, as a group, and with their fans.

‘Under My Influence’ brings fans deeper into The Aces’ world of funk-tinged romance, heartfelt breakups, and relentless positivity—no matter what’s going on. Together, sisters Cristal and Alisa Ramirez (vocals/guitar and drums, respectively), McKenna Petty (bass), and Katie Henderson (lead guitar/vocals) — all friends since grade school in Provo, Utah — explore growing up and falling in love in the 21st century with candid honesty and endearing relatability. With ‘Under My Influence’, The Aces push its sound to more buoyant heights, grounded in learned realities. Where ‘When My Heart Felt Volcanic’ left off with the hope of a lover returning, ‘Under My Influence’ finds The Aces standing tall, cheeky, and fantastically independent.

Few electronic artists can attest to having as significant a cultural impact as Snakehips, the London duo comprised of Oliver Lee and James Carter. Across their ten-year career, they have amassed hundreds of millions of streams and record sales, performed on the main stages of the world’s biggest festivals and cultivated a global following in the process. Moving into the new decade, Snakehips continue with their exploration into dance music while losing none of the pop energy that has characterized their journey so far.

It was 2015 hit “All My Friends” that turned Snakehips from promising production duo to a household name and proved to be the beginning of a catalogue of collaborations with some of the most prominent artists on the planet. Since then, they have linked up with the likes of Grammy-winning rapper Anderson .Paak, One Direction’s Zayn, Danish singer-songwriter MØ, and Brooklyn rap don Joey Badass. Next on the horizon, the pair have lined up collaborations with some of the world’s most recognizable artists, for an EP that furthers their exploration into the realm of dance music.
