Michele Gumabao absent again from Miss Universe Philippines Top 5 gigs, explains why

After the controversies surrounding her absence from Miss Universe Philippines press cons and gigs, Miss Universe Philippines 2020 2nd runner-up Michele Gumabao is back in the spotlight.

Last Sunday, November 22, the Miss Universe Philippines 2020 Top 5 made a guest appearance on ASAP Natin To with titleholder Rabiya Mateo, first runner-up Bella Ysmael, third runner-up Pauline Amelinckx, and fourth runner-up Billie Hakenson taking on the stage. However, Gumabao was noticeably missing from the group.

In her Instagram post last Wednesday, she explained that she missed the guesting upon the advice of her handler and ASAP Natin To showrunners due to possible COVID-19 exposure due to multiple relief operations. She also wrote that she did test negative for COVID-19.

“Due to multiple relief operations Kahit negative ako sa swab, my handler and the show decided for the safety of everyone hindi ako kasama because of the exposure from my relief operations,” wrote Gumabao.

Because of this, Gumabao decided to go to Isabela instead and continue their relief operations.

“I decided to go to Isabela with our team to personally distribute the goods instead,” wrote Gumabao.

Gumabao added that she cleared things up for their organization and relief operations.

“Sanay na ako sa mga issues on social media and I said before, basta ako lang i-bash niyo okay lang. But when it involves our organization, I have to clear this up because so many people trusted and donated their hard-earned money for the victims of typhoon Ulysses, and I will personally see our operations through,” she said.

In October, Gumabao made news after she left the pre-taped pageant before the announcement of the Miss Universe Philippines winners and was absent at the press conference the next day. To which she explained via her vlog.
