Kim Atienza, one of the highly-acclaimed broadcasters of ABS-CBN, is rumored to shift to GMA Network.
On September 29, GMA Network teased that ‘Kuya’ is coming to the network. Kim Atienza is popularly known as ‘Kuya Kim’ in ABS-CBN.
He was also spotted entering the GMA compound on the same day.
On Instagram, he also posted a photo of him hugging his fellow TV Patrol anchors with the caption, “No words”.
This is the confirmation that he is indeed leaving ABS-CBN for the GMA Network.

His friends in the industry then showed their love and support for Kuya Kim despite this unexpected decision.
Korina Sanchez commented: “Many good things must end. But many other good things never do.”
Previously, John Lloyd Cruz went back to showbiz after his hiatus via the GMA Network. His network shift became controversial; however, the actor cannot be blamed for transferring considering the opportunity offered by GMA Network.
Just like John Lloyd, GMA Network promised several projects for Kim. So, the broadcaster was not able to refuse the offer.
According to a source of Politiko, Atienza was offered five programs in GMA Network in exchange for his exit from ABS-CBN.
If this will pursue, TV Patrol is bound to lose two of its pillars as Noli De Castro is also about to take hiatus from TV as he plans to run for Senate in 2022.
By accepting the offer, Kim just broke his pledge during an interview in September 2020 where he said, “The ABS-CBN ship is still afloat and is very much alive. I shall stay a Kapamilya till its last breath.”
