ABS-CBN once again showed its expertise in creating quality programs and its deep pool of talent as it led all Filipino media companies at the 2021 Asian Academy Creative Awards with a total of 11 national winners.

iWantTFC’s original series “He’s Into Her” garnered three recognitions for ABS-CBN, including Best Original Programme by a Streamer/OTT, Best Direction (Fiction) for director Chad Vidanes, and Best Theme Song for “He’s Into Her” by BGYO.

The country’s first and only community singing game show, “Everybody, Sing!,” also won as the nation’s Best Music/Dance Programme, while Vice Ganda emerged as the Best Entertainment Program Host.

The Best Single Drama/Anthology Episode went to “MMK” for its “Two Mothers” episode that starred Iza Calzado and Shamaine Buencamino.

Kapamilya stars also aced in the acting category. JM de Guzman was named Best Actor for “Init sa Magdamag,” Sylvia Sanchez clinched Best Supporting Actress for “Huwag Kang Mangamba,” and Nonie Buencamino bagged Best Supporting Actor for “Huwag Kang Mangamba.”

In the news and current affairs category, the national winners include Karen Davila, who was awarded as Best News Anchor for ANC’s “Headstart,” while “Fedelina: A Stolen Life” nabbed the Best Documentary Programme award.

The country’s national winners will represent the Philippines in the regional awarding of the Asian Academy Awards that will be held in Singapore in December. In 2020, Arjo Atayde was the only Philippine national winner that won in the entire region as Best Actor in a Leading Role for “Bagman.”

Meanwhile, three ABS-CBN programs also brought recognition for the country as they were nominated alongside other entries from around the world at the 2021 Venice TV Award (VTVA), where ABS-CBN Integrated Program Acquisitions & International Distribution head Macie Imperial also served as a member of the awards jury.

“He’s Into Her” was nominated in the Cross Platform Programming category, Vice Ganda’s “Everybody, Sing!” got a nod in the Light Entertainment category, while the action-drama “A Soldier’s Heart” topbilled by Gerald Anderson, Carlo Aquino, Vin Abrenica, Elmo Magalona, Jerome Ponce, Yves Flores, and Nash Aguas was a nominee in the Best Soap/Telenovela category. The three shows were the only nominees from Southeast Asia in their respective categories.

ABS-CBN continues to champion Filipino talent and make Filipino content shine on the world stage. Known for producing quality programs, blockbuster movies, and hit music, ABS-CBN is also a digital company that is expanding its services to address the needs of Filipinos around the world.
