In show business, some stars are meant to shine forever. (Take the lingering and staying power of the country’s superstars for example.) While some stars chose to shine in other fields outside of showbiz.
Former child performer Star Villareal has opted for the latter. Right after college, she decided to put to good use her earned expertise—as production designer/supervisor at a leading mall in Singapore.
Star started very young in showbiz — at four years old — when she was one of little sisters of the Ms. Universe candidates in the 1994 edition which was held in Manila.
Soon she appeared as maincast to various kiddie-educational programs of ABS-CBN such as HirayaManawari , Sineskwela and Mathinik. In a way , through these shows, she was teaching TV audiences subjects like Mathematics, values, good manners and right conducts, etc. which she herself has to learn from school.
During her growing up years, Star managed to juggle showbiz and school life. She has participated in drama series such as Pangako Sa ’Yo, Marinela, both at ABS-CBN network; then at Best Friends, a variety show of the legendary Kuya Germs at GMA Network. She also co-hosted Yan ang Bata and was member-host of Pen-Pen de Sarapen both aired over RPN 9 and Chanel 13.
A free-lance artist during her teens, Star showed her acting prowess in drama series of both ABS and GMA, namely Lovingly Yours Helen, Maricel Drama Special, May Bukas Pa, Pira-PirasongPangarap, Kassangga, Telecine, Kahit Magtiis and Maynila.
Fast forward to Star and her dashing prince, Dashler Chua. The two crossed paths in high school –during the first day of classes at Adamson and from then on became good friends. “He was my protector, best buddy, and my guide and savior roll into one in school,” Star said.
After hurdling seven years as sweethearts and four years in a long distance relationship, the couple decided to make their grand dream come true by tying the knot in San Agustin Church in Intramuros on December 8, 2015.
With the blessings of their parents, Santy and Cecille Villareal and Danny and Leorosa Chua, Star and Dash vowed to love each other forever in a touching wedding ceremony and romantic garden reception in Intramuros.
