Kapamilya artists Alexa Ilacad and KD Estrada, during the media conference for the Closer: The KDLex Fancon, on February 22, both stars clarified the real score between them.
Ilacad described her relationship with Estrada as blossoming.
“No, not yet. Of course, there’s something, something blossoming–on the way, or something like that.”
Estrada said, “It’s developing.”
Ilacad mentioned that she doesn’t want Estrada to get into anything serious at the moment with all the opportunities they have.
“Yeah, it’s like a picture, developing. But we had this talk na I really told [KD]him na I don’t want him to get into anything serious, or I don’t want him to get into a relationship yet because with so many things happening to us. It can get really overwhelming.
“I thought the smart and mature thing to do is to focus on our work. It sounds so showbiz, pero ‘yun talaga kasi talaga eh. Kasi, honestly, it can be a bit stressful naman talaga. So sabi ko, if we add a relationship on top of that, it might be hard to handle na.”
Ilacad also stressed that they want to enjoy each other’s company and not rush into things.
“I think it’s better na–let’s just enjoy, enjoy each other’s company, enjoy whatever we have now, we don’t have to rush into things right away.”
She also advised Estrada to focus on his career first.
“Sa totoo lang nga pwede na, for me lang talaga, especially for him, he’s new to all of this, and I really want him to enjoy what’s happening to his career, what’s happening to him. And I want things to go so smoothly. I think it’s the more mature thing to do.”
Estrada agreed to Ilacad, noting that they could still date despite not getting into a relationship.
“Yeah, it’s the more mature thing to do, but we can still date.”
As for their upcoming Fancon, KD Estrada and Alexa Ilacad will get close with their fans on Closer: The KDLex Fancon. The concert will stream on Saturday, February 26 at 8 pm via KTX and SKY Pay-Per-View.
