Several celebrities and social media personalities took to twitter to share their reactions to Sen. Imee Marcos’s latest remarks regarding her brother Ferdinand ‘Bongbong’ Marcos Jr’s election victory.

During Marcos Jr.’s proclamation at the House of Representatives on Wednesday, May 25, Imee got asked for her reaction to her brother’s victory and their return to Malacañang.

In response, she said returning to Malacañang is not that important for their family. What’s more important is to clear their name, which according to her got tarnished for the past 36 years.

“What’s most important to us is of course, our name, the family name that has become so controversial— the legacy of my father is what we hope will be clarified at last.”

On twitter, theatre actor and Kakampink volunteer Phi Palmos couldn’t help, but tweet a blushing emoji together with a screen shot of Imee’s statement and a Kakampink artcard with a statement “Tama Nga Kami”–implying they knew all along the Marcoses real goal.

@martindjavier shared that they lost their uncle during Martial Law, and it is so sad that such atrocities will be erased slowly from the nation’s history with the Marcoses’ ultimate goal of sanitizing their names.

“Lost an uncle(whom I never met) to ML. As per my dad, nawala parang bula. Sad that this injustice, along with thousands of victims during ML will be slowly erased from our country’s history.

Inquirer journalist @krixiaasINQ, meanwhile, agreed with Imee in one sense, saying historical truths indeed need clarifying after years of distortion and denialism from the Marcos family.

“In one sense, true that it needs clarifying. Historical truth—one backed by scholarship and lived experiences—needs to be resurfaced after being muddled by years of distortion and denialism.”

Another journalist Barnaby Lo also reacted by saying the Marcoses showed their true colors that their ultimate goal is–to clear their name.

“And there you have it, straight from the horse’s mouth. The goal has always been to sanitize the Marcos name.”

@jpmercado shared Lo’s sentiments saying there’s no doubt [from the start] about their real goal, but hearing it from the horse’s mouth is something.

“No one really doubted that this was their goal… but to hear one of them actually say it? Wow.”

“They want to protect their names. They want to revise history. He ran for power, not for the Filipino people. We are not his priority, but his family name and this is who 31M Filipinos voted for. 31M Filipinos who fell victim to false promises and misinformation.”

@manicpixiegurl slammed Imee in saying her father’s legacy is a thousand victims of extra-judicial killings during the martial law years.

“Legacy ng tatay mo? Ito legacy ng tatay at ng buong pamilya mo kupal ka.”

@krizzy_kalerqui also posted a side by side photos of Imee’s statement regarding their father’s legacy and a photo of martial law victims.
