On June 8, Kapamilya actor Sam Milby voiced his thoughts on why people cheat.
During the media conference for A Family Affair, Milby deduced possible reasons people commit infidelity.
“Siyempre, every situation is different so it’s hard to generalize, I mean pwedeng may pagkukulang ‘yung partner so hinahanap ‘yung pagkukulang ng partner sa ibang tao. Walang time ‘yung partner para sayo so ‘yung taong ito mas nagbibigay ng time, so you get more connected with that person.”
He then clarified that he considers ‘cheating as cheating,’ noting that people should work out their relationship issues.
“But para sa akin cheating is cheating. Kung may problema sa relasyon, dapat pag-usapan ninyo instead of doing that. And having that communication, people resort to finding that sa ibang tao.”
He also differentiated his role in A Family Affair from his previous roles in affair-themed teleseryes.
“Mas nacha-challenge ako and yes marami na akong ginawang affair, uso naman ‘yun sa Pilipinas na ‘yung affair na theme. But itong teleserye, ‘yung A Family Affair, ‘yun nga its–mas naka-focus nga sa family, hindi lang ‘yung– I mean yes, may love triangle, you know, there’s that love triangle na nangyayari sa kwento but ‘yung dynamics ng family din.”
He then shared the back story of his upcoming series while going in-depth about his character’s inner struggle.
“At ito ‘yung maganda dito it’s ‘yung bawat brother may mga nangyayaring, may consequences na affected din ‘yung ibang kapatid. There’s a lot– and ‘yung nga ‘yung sinabi ko kanina na inner struggles na nangyayari kay Dave, ‘yung choice na ginawa niya dahil sa nangyari, just the sacrifice ginawa niya and holding in all of this secret, ang dami. It’s a challenge.”
He also cited how the Kapamilya audience can relate to his role.
“I feel he does represent those people who are left with that hard choice of– bilang panganay, do you choose love or protect the family. There’s a lot of people sa mundo na ‘yun ang choice nila. ‘Yung sacrifice na kailangang gawin. Iwan mo ‘yung pagmamahal para sa pamilya. If it were me, I don’t think I would be able to do that, ‘yung choice ni Dave.”
Milby portrays the role of Dave in the upcoming series, A Family Affair, which premieres soon on ABS-CBN platforms.
The Kapamilya series stars up-and-coming Kapamilya dramatic actress Ivana Alawi, and Kapuso stars Gerald Anderson, Jameson Blake, and Jake Ejercito.
