Actress Ella Cruz, on July 29, talked about the ‘hardships’ she encountered before the premiere of Maid in Malacañang.

At the red carpet premiere of Maid in Malacañang, Cruz said that her struggles for the movie were worth it.

“It’s all worth it, grabe hindi ko po inaasahan ‘yung ganitong premiere night. Hindi ko inaasahan na ganito mapupunta ‘yung pelikulang ito. Napakalaki, talagang just gratefulness for everything.”

Earlier, netizens criticized Cruz for her ‘history is like tsismis’ (history is like gossip) statement.

Personalities and citizens tried to educate Cruz about history through their social media accounts.

She then called for ‘humanity’ amid the criticisms she received from netizens and personalities.

“Bash me all you want PERO WAG NIYONG IDADAMAY PAMILYA KO. Have a little humanity, please.”

As for her movie, Cruz portrays the role of Irene Marcos in Maid in Malacañang. Joining her is an all-star cast starting with Cesar Montano, Ruffa Gutierrez, Cristine Reyes, Diego Loyzaga, Kiko Estrada, Kyle Velino, Elizabeth Oropesa, Karla Estrada, and Beverly Salviejo.

Directed by Darryl Yap, the Viva Films movie and premiered on August 3 in theaters nationwide, followed by worldwide screenings.
