Pambansang Kamao and former senator Manny Pacquiao shared that he’s still interested in returning to the political arena.

Pacquiao recently guested in the South Korean comedy variety show Knowing Bros on October 23 to promote his exhibition fight with South Korean MMA fighter DK Yoo in December.

But aside from his boxing career, he was also asked about his life in politics, especially his experience in the recent 2022 elections.

“Sumali ako dahil gusto kong disiplinahin ‘yung mga tao pagdating sa korapsyon. Gusto kong sugpuin ang corruption at umunlad ‘yung bansa natin,” Pacquio shared.

However, with his unsuccessful presidential bid which marked his first political loss since 2010, Pacman was asked if he’s still open to making a political comeback.

“Meron pa rin. ‘Yung passion ko makatulong ulit, madisiplina ‘yung mga tao, nandoon pa rin,” he answered.

Pacquiao started his political career in 2007 when he ran for congressman of the 1st District of South Cotabato. He however lost to his opponent, the incumbent Congresswoman Darlene Antonino-Custodio.

Determined to enter politics, Pacquiao again run for congressman in 2010, but in Jinkee’s hometown in Saranggani. It was Pacquiao’s first political victory as he won by landslide against Saranggani’s political bigwig Roy Chiongbian.

After two consecutive terms as Saranggani congressman, he decided to run for senator and won in 2016. Pacman placed 7th in the official Commission on Elections (COMELEC) tally with a vote of more than 16 million.

In the recent 2022 elections, Pacquiao vied for the Presidency but lost to current President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.
