On January 30, Kapamilya actress Janella Salvador talked about the lack of representation for lesbian characters on TV.

At the media conference for the finale of Mars Ravelo’s ‘Darna’, which LionhearTV covered, Salvador cited the lack of representation as one of the reasons why fans shipped Valentina/Regina and Darna on their TV series. The actress expressed, “And I feel like they rarely get represented, like this side of the community rarely gets represented kaya they really clung onto us.”

Her co-star Jane de Leon explained that the fans’ response came unexpectedly.

Salvador thanked LGBTQIA+ for their support of the Kapamilya TV show.

The two actresses also expressed interest in taking on some “Girls Love” themed series after Darna.

“Of course, why not?” Salvador replied.

“Why not, sana ‘yung story ganon. Kasi, it’s all about the craft din naman din di ba? Artist din kami so challenge din sa amin ‘yun,” De Leon noted.

De Leon and Salvador star in the Kapamilya action-fantasy series ‘Darna’ with Zaijian Jaranilla and Joshua Garcia.

Catch the all-out war in Darna’s last two weeks via Kapamilya Channel, Kapamilya Online Live, CineMo, iWantTFC, TFC, A2Z, and TV5.
