It may have been spoiled for a day, but ‘Maria Clara at Ibarra’ (MCAI) still ended victorious in the rating game.
According to the rating reports from the Nielsen NUTAM People Survey, the Kapuso portal fantasy series bade farewell at the top of the overall rating chart.
On February 24, MCAI registered a rating of 14.3 percent and secured the number one rank in the overall rating chart, tied with GMA Network’s primetime newscast 24 Oras.
MCAI’s finale outperformed FPJ’s ‘Batang Quiapo’ (FPJBQ) by a 2.1 percent margin at 12.2 percent.
As for the rest of the finale week episodes, the Barbie Forteza-led series almost swept FPJBQ except for the episode on Wednesday, February 22.
On Monday, February 20, MCAI scored 12.3 percent to reclaim its throne on the leaderboard’s entertainment category against FPJBQ, which scored 12.0 percent.
On the following day, Tuesday, February 21, MCAI continued its winning streak as it registered a rating of 12.0 percent, 0.4 percent higher than FPJBQ’s 11.6 percent.
FPJBQ, however, spoiled MCAI’s winning streak when it scored a 12.5 percent rating vs. MCAI’s 11.8 percent on Wednesday, February 22.
But MCAI quickly bounced back and regained its leadership from FPJBQ on Thursday, February 23: 13.2 percent vs. 12.2 percent.
Aside from TV ratings, MCAI’s finale week also made it to the top trending topic on Twitter Philippines.
In a tweet by GMA News on Thursday, February 23, it shared MCAI’s hashtag, #MCIMgaAralAtPangarap, which is the number one trending topic on Twitter Philippines.
