Luck was present on Father’s Day as the father and child songbayanan bagged the P2,140,000 jackpot prize and became the first winning group in the third season of “Everybody, Sing!” on Sunday (June 18).
During the jackpot round, the contestants had 115 seconds to guess 13 songs. With 12 seconds to spare, they successfully guessed the last song “Paano Ba Ang Magmahal,” winning P2 million on Sunday plus the P140,000 prize from Saturday.
“‘Yung pagmamahal niyo sa inyong mga anak, at sa inyong mga ama ang nagdala sa inyo rito at ‘yan ang susi kung bakit kayo sinuwerte at nanalo,” Vice Ganda said.
Meanwhile, Vice turned emotional as she remembered her own father.
“Ang swerte-swerte niyo kasi kasama niyo ngayon ‘yung tatay niyo, di ba. Kasi minsan nagwi-wish ako na sana nandito ‘yung tatay ko para nakikita niya kung gaano karami ‘yung tao sa concert ko,” she expressed.
She also wished that her father were still present to witness her success in her career.
“Sana nandito ‘yung tatay ko para makita niya kung gaano karami ‘yung pumipila sa pelikula ko. Sana nandito ‘yung tatay ko para napapanood niya ‘yung ‘Showtime’ kung gaano kasaya pero puro sana na lang,” she added.
