At the recent press conference by GMA Entertainment TV Drama last Monday, Lilybeth Rasonable shared her thoughts on the declining effect of showbiz-oriented shows.
Rasonable said that showbiz-oriented talk shows these days are not as effective as it was.
To begin with, Resonable stated that the real-time news on social media is one of the key factors that affects the said talk shows.
“Ngayon lang nababasa na natin `yung pinagsasabi ko sa Twitter at saka sa ano… parang ibang-iba na talaga. Tapos na `yung panahon ng mga showbiz talk shows.”
“Kasi nga unahan na. Mamayang gabi stale na `yun kasi nabasa na ng lahat. So we have to find other ways,” she added.
GMA Network remains considerate on its talk shows for they have different types of concepts.
“Yung ‘talk,’ hindi naman `yan siguro mamamatay. We just have to find other topics and other ways of doing ‘talk’ that will excite our viewers…”
Generally speaking, one of main goals of these talk shows is to let the celebrities to promote their shows.
“We have other shows that can do that like Sunday PinaSaya, Full House Tonight which is coming up, we have Mars, we have Taste Buddies, we have so many talk shows that can still do that.”
Given these points, Is this the end of showbiz-oriented talk show in Philippine television? What is your opinion on this issue?
