On October 4, comedian and former Miss Q & A contestant Elsa Droga reacted to ‘It’s Showtime’s suspension.
At the media conference for the digital series ‘Online In Love,’ which LionhearTV covered, Elsa weighed in on the suspension order of the noontime show coming from The Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB).
“Nakakalungkot po kasi naging pamilya po namin ang It’s Showtime eh. So doon po ako nakilala. So para sa akin, isa ‘yung sa mga platforms na nagpapakilala ng iba’t ibang klase ng tao. Sila ‘yung nagpapakilala sa buong mundo kung gaano ka — may potential.
“So noong nalaman ko na suspended ang It’s Showtime, nakakalungkot siya. Pero, may mga platform pa rin po na kung saan mapapanood ang ‘It’s Showtime.'”
She also urged MTRCB to give the noontime show a chance as it promotes positivity towards their viewers.
“Ang nakakadismaya po sa amin, sana bigyan ng pagkakataon ang It’s Showtime, na maipalabas ulit sa telebisyon. Dahil It’s Showtime, ang It’s Showtime family po ay palaging nagbibigay ng kasiyahan sa mga taong nalulungkot, sa mga taong depressed. It’s Showtime is the best talaga. Kaya sana bigyan ng pagkakataon ng MTRCB.”
When asked whether she would be open to appearing other noontime shows, Elsa responded, “Di ko sure eh, tatanong ko muna sa ‘It’s Showtime.’ Wala naman pong manager, pero if ever naman po siguro, papayagan naman po ako kasi collaboration naman na po ang GMA at ABS-CBN. Pwede naman po siguro.”

ABS-CBN announced ‘It’s Showtime’ would serve the 12-day suspension order from MTRCB starting October 14 and returning on air by October 28.
As for their upcoming digital series, ‘Online In Love’ features influencers such as Gab Rosales, Daniel Bautista, Elsa Droga, Oreo Libios, Pink Rose, Marissa Joelle, Jewel Gines, and Jassy Calupitan.
The series is under the co-production of MJ in partnership with Mabuhay PH Digital Network.
‘Online In Love’ was a concept created by the series director Jag Cruz and written by Eldrin Veloso.
