Kapamilya actor Elijah Canlas, aged 23, has officially confirmed the conclusion of his romantic relationship with actress Miles Ocampo, aged 26.
During an interview with ABS-CBN News on November 23, 2023, Elijah disclosed, “We broke up a couple of months ago. But I’m always gonna have love for her, and I’m always gonna support her in whatever she does. And I’ll always be her number one fan, basically. But right now, we’re just taking our time figuring out ourselves and our lives right now.”
Elijah opened up about encountering challenges in both of their personal lives over the past few months, indicating that they are currently navigating through a period of self-discovery.
“Well, yeah, we went through a rough patch recently, mainly because we’re going through our own personal stuff, and it’s been hard. So, we’re figuring things out,” Elijah explained during the ABS-CBN interview.
He emphasized that there is no animosity between him and Miles. “Yeah, we’re okay. We’re not mad at each other or anything like that,” Elijah clarified.
In August, Elijah faced the tragic loss of his younger brother JM Canlas, who passed away at the age of 17. Meanwhile, Miles underwent surgery due to a thyroid problem.
The relationship between Elijah and Miles spanned over two years, publicly acknowledged in June 2022, signifying over a year of togetherness. Elijah held the distinction of being Miles’ first boyfriend.
On May 1, 2023, Elijah expressed his heartfelt wishes to Miles on her birthday through an Instagram post, recognizing her growth and describing her as a blessing to the world. The post reflected Elijah’s deep appreciation for their shared journey and ended with a warm, “Happy birthday, my love!”
