ABS-CBN bosses were saddened over the fact that actress Angel Locsin cannot play her role as “Darna” anymore.
First was the Star Cinema managing director who confirmed the sad news in an interview with ABS-CBN News reporter MH Felipe on March 20.
“Sobrang nalungkot kasi nung una, nung nalaman namin na mayroon siyang problema sa likod, sinabihan na namin siya na she cannot play Darna. But, because deep in our hearts na siya lang ang pwedeng maging Darna, we gave her the chance and she promised to do the therapy na magpapagaling siya para sa kanyang likod,” Santos said.
Second was the president and CEO of ABS-CBN, Carlo Katigbak who assured Angel’s fan that they can still see the actress in other Kapamilya projects.
”We were very sad and disappointed about this latest development but, of course, ‘yung safety and health ni Angel is our number 1 priority. She’s still one of our biggest stars so marami pa siyang gagawin sa ABS-CBN bilang isang Kapamilya,” he said.
Meanwhile, “Darna” director Erik Matti, admitted felt regretful that Angel will not able to play as the superheroine.
He said, “Sayang lang because she would have been really good as Darna.”
Now that ABS-CBN bosses confirmed Angel’s unfortunate condition, we hope that Star Cinema will find an actress who can play as Darna perfectly.
