City of Dreams Manila’s signature restaurants highlight seasonal specialties this August, enticing food aficionados to indulge in cuisines consisting of new-style Japanese, Malaysian, Cantonese, and other regional Chinese specialties.

Nobu Manila

The Manila outpost of the globally renowned restaurant of celebrity chef Nobu Matsuhisa keeps dinner experiences distinct and exciting as its Omakase tasting menu evolves quarterly, inviting diners to delve deeper into the world of Nobu. From now until September, a seven-course dinner menu begins with a chef’s choice of zensai (appetizer), followed by the first course of Ika (squid) with capsicum jelly caviar and crispy onion. Salmon with calamansi salsa and crispy shitake mushrooms, and a seasonal selection of Assorted Sushi served together with Shrimp Ball Soup come after. A serving of White Fish Tataki Salad with shaved root vegetables and drizzled with garlic sesame vinegar further entices the palate before the fifth and sixth course of Pan-seared Sea Bass with charred pechay, gin-an ginger sauce and shitake mushrooms, and Wagyu Striploin with aka (red) miso risotto, snap peas and soy-mirin reduction. The last course of Vanilla Cheesecake Mousse with mango gelee, almond dacquoise, kinako (roasted soybean) tuile, and mixed berry sorbet provides a sweet finish to the meal.

For those who wish to ease into the night with pre-dinner drinks, Nobu Manila’s bar features an irresistible selection of handcrafted cocktails, signature sake, wine, beer, liquor, and mocktails.

Posh and stylish yet exuding a relaxed vibe, Nobu Manila has been the go-to place for gourmands looking for a dinner place with globally recognized cuisine.

Crystal Dragon

From August 12 to 31, “A Feast of Canton” reigns at Crystal Dragon, situated on the upper ground of the Forbes Travel Guide Five-Star Rated Nüwa Manila. A themed a la carte menu of select Cantonese specialties consists of Deep-fried Seafood and Wild Mushroom stuffed in golden crab shell; Sea Cucumber Dumpling and Morel in fresh ginger broth; Crispy Stuffed Pork (suckling pig) with prawn paste and topped with Atlantic salmon caviar; Steamed Live Grouper cooked “Qi Lin” Style where the whole fish is artfully divided into equal pieces and neatly layered with other ingredients; and Braised Fragrant Rice with assorted seafood, crab meat, and crispy dried scallop. The seasonal menu also features a dessert of Chilled Honeydew Coconut Cream with pearl sago and lychee popping boba.

Red Ginger

The rich flavors of Malaysian cuisine take centerstage at City of Dreams Manila’s Southeast Asian bistro and bar with “Makan Makan” promotion running until end of August. Translated in Malay Archipelago as “let’s go eat”, the Makan Makan features dishes inspired by the rich culinary traditions of Malaysia. Choices on the menu include Bak Kut Teh, a comforting dish of pork ribs simmered in a broth of herbs and spices and served with deep-fried Chinese doughnut; Mee Goreng, a medley of stir-fried noodles in sambal and sweet soya sauce with prawns, squid, and vegetables; Chicken Satay with Nasi Impit or grilled chicken skewers served with peanut sauce, cucumber and onion, which also comes with compressed rice cakes or nasi impit; and Claypot Chicken Rice, which consists of boneless chicken leg with mushrooms and lap cheong sausage on flavorful Jasmine rice. For dessert, the menu offers Assorted Kuih, a colorful plate of Malaysian confections served with vanilla ice cream and coconut sauce.

Jing Ting

The integrated resort’s restaurant specializing in Northern Chinese cuisine highlights “Old Peking Specials” until August 31. The seasonal a la carte menu includes Chilled Homemade Gluten Rolls with black fungus and chili vinegar; Stir-fried Northern-style Bone-in Pork Ribs seasoned with Chinese salt, onions, and peppers; Peking “Jianbing” or Chinese crepes, enriched with shredded pork, spicy marinated potato, and garlic cucumber. Tossed Spicy Rice Noodles with minced beef and vegetables and Chinese-style Spaetzle with vegetable and shrimp in vermicelli soup complete the menu.
