Miguel Tanfelix is ready for an action-packed new chapter in his career with his upcoming GMA Prime series ‘Mga Batang Riles’, which he claims is the most action-heavy role he has tackled so far.
Prior to this, Tanfelix starred as Steve Armstrong in ‘Voltes V: Legacy’, a series known for its thrilling robot action. However, he believes that ‘Mga Batang Riles’ brings a new level of intensity.
“Ito talaga ‘yung hardcore action kasi dati, kunwari, Voltes V, mas maraming aksyon pa ‘yung robot kaysa sa amin. Ito ‘yung hardcore action na every taping day, hindi pwedeng walang action. Hindi pwedeng walang stunts,” he said during the series’ media conference on December 20.
The actor shared that the physically demanding nature of the show has been both challenging and exciting. “Pahirapan talaga, physically tiring po ‘yung bawat araw namin. ‘Yun ‘yung nagpapa-excite sa aming Mga Batang Riles, sa lahat ng cast kasi meron kang nilo-look forward every taping day na, ‘Ano kayang stunts ang gagawin namin ngayon?’”
However, the series isn’t just about action. Tanfelix also noted the emotional depth of ‘Mga Batang Riles’, which balances the physical stunts with powerful family drama. “Bukod sa heavy action ‘to, heavy drama din ‘to. Kaya siya nagiging action kasi mga lalaki, laging nagre-resort sa physical, ‘di ba? ‘Pag overwhelming emotions,” he explained.
In ‘Mga Batang Riles’, Tanfelix plays Kidlat, the leader of a group, marking a new chapter in his acting career. The series will premiere on GMA Prime on January 6.
