Singer-actress Gigi de Lana put an end to rumors about her alleged TV ban with a guest appearance on ‘It’s Showtime’ on Sunday, January 29.
Gigi appeared in the show’s popular segment, ‘Hide and Sing,’ where she performed as a mystery singer.
During the segment, both the contestant and guest panelists Martin Nievera and Pops Fernandez guessed that the masked performer was Regine Velasquez. However, Gigi surprised everyone when she removed her mask, revealing her identity to cheers and applause.

The rumors about a supposed TV ban first surfaced in December 2024. Entertainment columnist Ogie Diaz discussed the issue in his ‘Showbiz Updates’ vlog, claiming that Gigi had allegedly breached her contract with ABS-CBN’s talent management arm, Star Magic.
“Ang tsika, nag-breach daw ng kontrata si Gigi. Nagsarili. Hindi finulfill ang kaniyang obligasyon sa pinirmahang kontrata,” Ogie explained. He added that there were claims Gigi was unable to promote her new music on both ABS-CBN and GMA Network due to this issue.
Despite the controversy, Gigi and Star Magic have not released any official statements regarding the allegations.
During her recent guest appearance, Gigi did not address the rumors directly but seemed in good spirits, delivering a strong performance on the show. Her supporters are hopeful that this signifies a renewed partnership with ABS-CBN and the end of any contractual misunderstandings.
