Disc jockey Jellie Aw has fired back at netizens who suggested that the alleged physical abuse she suffered at the hands of her fiancé, Jam Ignacio, was her “karma.”
Following her February 7 Instagram post, Aw’s comments section was flooded with remarks linking her current situation to her supposed past statements about Ignacio’s ex-girlfriend, actress-TV host Karla Estrada.
One netizen commented, “Ano kaya masasabi nung Ate Girl na kada-post niya sa socmed pinaparinggan niya si Karla Estrada, tapos ngayon ‘yung pinaglalaban niya siya [bumugbog] sa kanya.”
Jellie responded with sarcasm, calling the commenter “tomboy.”
Another user wrote, “Ang bilis ng karma,” to which Jellie clapped back, “Gaano kabilis?”
She also confronted a commenter who insinuated that she might have provoked Ignacio’s alleged actions.
“Ate, panay ka sawsaw d’yan wala ka namang alam. E Carla naman talaga name nung naglilinis,” she said.
Despite the online backlash, Aw remains firm in seeking justice as she has already filed a formal complaint against Ignacio at the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI).
NBI Chief Jaime Santiago confirmed that the case has been assigned to the Violence Against Women and Children Division and that Ignacio is set to be subpoenaed.
