Sam Milby has confirmed that he and Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray have ended their relationship, finally putting an end to months of speculation.
In an exclusive interview with ABS-CBN News on February 18, 2025, the actor was directly asked if he and Gray were still together.
“No,” he answered without hesitation.
Despite their breakup, Sam clarified that he and Catriona remain on good terms.
“If you want to ask if we are okay, we are okay. Wala kaming problema,” he stated.
The actor also explained that while they shared moments of their relationship with the public—including their engagement announcement in February 2023—they always preferred to keep the details of their personal lives private.
“Kami ni Cat, we’ve always been private about our relationship. We share certain things, but in terms of the details and buhay namin, we haven’t really shared much,” he explained.
Since breakup rumors surfaced in mid-2024, Moira Dela Torre had been speculated as the third party. However, Sam firmly denied these allegations.
“There was never a third party sa amin ni Cat. That needs to be cleared. There is no truth to it at all,” he said.
He also urged netizens to be careful about believing unverified online claims: “It makes me sad. May babala ako sa mga tao: please mag-ingat kayo sa mga nakikita niyo online. If there’s no evidence, huwag niyong paniwalaan ‘yung nakikita niyo because in this incident, there’s absolutely no truth to it at all.”
Before their falling out, Sam and Moira were known to be close friends, both being under Cornerstone Entertainment.
However, when asked if they were still friends, Sam gave a firm response: “We are not friends anymore.”
“Sobrang close kami before, and I guess people wanted to connect our closeness to may nangyari sa amin,” he added.
He declined to elaborate on why their friendship ended, simply stating: “It’s an issue that’s really sensitive.”
The controversy surrounding Sam, Catriona, and Moira gained traction when Sam and several Cornerstone Entertainment artists—including Yeng Constantino, Erik Santos, and TJ Monterde—unfollowed Moira on Instagram in January 2025.
Adding to the speculation, Catriona and Moira had an awkward moment at the Urban Smiles Congress 2025 event. A viral video showed Catriona seemingly snubbing Moira on stage. The beauty queen greeted other guests but appeared to intentionally skip Moira, fueling rumors of tension between them.
Despite the breakup and controversy, Sam remains focused on his career. He is currently starring in ‘Saving Grace: The Untold Story,’ alongside Sharon Cuneta and Julia Montes, which will premiere on March 3, 2025 on Kapamilya Channel, A2Z, TV5, iWantTFC, and Kapamilya Online Live.
He is also set to appear in the upcoming film ‘Everything About My Wife,’ alongside Dennis Trillo and Jennylyn Mercado, set to hit cinemas on February 26, 2025.
Meanwhile, Catriona Gray has yet to issue a statement regarding their breakup.
