Veteran showbiz personality Ogie Diaz had sharp words for former presidential spokesperson Atty. Harry Roque, following a viral video where the lawyer passionately spoke out from The Hague, Netherlands, against the Philippine government’s reported plan to arrest him.
In the video, Roque stood just outside the International Criminal Court (ICC) Detention Center—where former President Rodrigo Duterte is currently detained for crimes against humanity—and declared that he was untouchable while his asylum application is still pending.
“Kahit ano pang kunin n’yong red notice alert diyan, eh manigas kayo! Hindi n’yo ako makukuha habang nakabinbin itong asylum na ‘to dito sa Netherlands,” Roque said, addressing the reported arrest plans by Philippine authorities.
He went on to claim that the plan to have him arrested is rooted in corruption: “It’s just another scheme para makapangurakot. Wala namang headbutt. Baka sila pa ang makulong pag nagpunta sila dito.”
Reacting to Roque’s statements, Ogie Diaz shared a post on Facebook with a blunt message: “Juice ko, ang lola nyo, nagtutungayaw doon. Matapang dahil nasa ibang lugar. Umuwi ka kasi dito para idepensa mo ang sarili mo kung wala ka talagang kasalanan, ateng. Kalokah.”
Diaz’s post quickly garnered attention online, with many echoing his sentiment that Roque should return to the Philippines to answer the charges filed against him.
The Department of Justice (DOJ) recently confirmed that it is preparing documents to request a red notice from the International Criminal Police Organization (Interpol) for Roque’s arrest. The former Duterte spokesperson and Cassandra Ong are facing charges related to qualified human trafficking involving a Philippine Offshore Gaming Operator (POGO) hub in Pampanga.
“In the end, what we want is to give justice to the victims of the qualified trafficking case. Kasama sa trabaho ng gobyerno ang paghanap sa mga sangkot sa krimen at iharap sa husgado,” DOJ spokesperson Mico Clavano said.
As of writing, Roque has not issued a direct response to Ogie Diaz’s remarks.
