Apl.de.Ap appeals to followers to “spread love” for the Philippines

  • Black Eyed Peas made headlines worldwide as they sang their classic song “Where is the Love?” during the charity concert, One Love Manchester, in United Kingdom.
  • Member Apl.de.ap, a Filipino-American singer, was seen wearing a Philippine flag-inspired necklace while performing in front of more than 50 thousand people.
  • On his Instagram account, the singer appealed to his fans to show love for the Philippines.
  • His fans, unsurprisingly, were quick to react on the said post — giving Apl the hint the Filipinos also like to see a big charity concert in the future.

The 42-year-old singer asked his Twitter followers if they wanted to see another charity show like One Love Manchester in the the Philippines.

Filipino-American singer Apl.de.ap successfully performed along with his group members will.i.am and Tablo, popularly known as Black Eyed Peas, with Ariana Grande for the One Love Manchester concert on June 5.

The concert’s main mission was to raise money for the victims of Manchester attack, where 22 people were killed and 100 people left injured after a suicide bomber detonated his device in the foyer of the Manchester Arena at the end of Ariana’s concert on May 22.

The group performed their signature song, the classic “Where is the Love?” in front of more than 50 thousand people at the Emirates Old Trafford in Manchester, United Kingdom. The concert was seen by more than 14 million people around the world. Also, during the group’s performance, Apl could also seen wearing a Philippine flag-inspired necklace.

On his Instagram account, Apl.de.ap commended the people who still chose to support the charity concert, despite receiving a warning from the government over a possible terror attack.

The singer then appealed to his followers to “spread love” for the Philippines. He said, “Now let’s start spreading love for my country Philippines, we need it as well.”

It could be recalled that the Philippines became the center of headlines locally and overseas after the shocking clash between Maute group and Armed Forces of the Philippines took place in Marawi City in Mindanao. The siege then followed by a sudden attack at Resorts World Manila that took the life of 38 civilians.

On his Twitter account, Apl asked his fans if the they wanted to see a show like One Love Manchester to be held in the Philippines. He tweeted: “Retweet if you want to see a show featuring the world for the Philippines ???? #onelove”.

Thousands of fans were quick to retweet the said post, garnering over 29 thousand likes and 27 retweets.
