Actor and singer Donny Pangilinan wrapped up his role as a judge on ‘Pilipinas Got Talent Season 7’ with heartfelt words and proud cheers from his parents, Anthony Pangilinan and Maricel Laxa.
Following the grand finale of the talent competition, Maricel Laxa beamed with pride as she congratulated her son: “You all rock! Fantastic show and so proud of you for diving into this—loving it and sharing the joy with us!”
Anthony Pangilinan echoed her sentiments, saying: “Congrats, son! Para sa akin, pang-golden buzzer ang judging skills mo. Glory is His!”
Donny took to social media to reflect on his journey as a first-time judge on the long-running talent search.
“And just like that… Season 7 comes to an end.
This has truly been one of the best experiences of my life. I used to be the biggest Got Talent fan as a kid—binge watching auditions, amazed at the talents I’d never seen before. I never imagined that one day, I’d have the privilege of sitting in the judges’ seat.”
He praised the hard work of the production team and the impact of the show in today’s digital age.
“This was not an easy show to pull off. Bringing PGT back on air meant everyone working double time. And in a time where showcasing talent online is easier than ever, the team still managed to find Filipino acts that were not only entertaining, but truly deserving of the big stage.”
Donny also extended his gratitude to the audience, supporters, and his fellow judges—Eugene Domingo, Kathryn Bernardo, and Freddie M. Garcia, along with hosts Robi Domingo and Melai Cantiveros.
“Thank you for your energy, your cheers, and for showing so much love to every contestant… You made this experience even more special,” Donny wrote.
He ended his message with a special shoutout to the season’s grand winner: “Congratulations, Tatay Cardo! Maraming salamat po sa pagbabahagi ng inyong talento at puso sa amin at sa buong Pilipinas. This is just the beginning, Tay. The world is about to meet you.”
Host Melai Cantiveros also joined in the fun, teasing Donny in a lighthearted message: “Donny, salamat salamat sa mind na shini-share mo sa amin. And salamat sa pagpapakilig kay Stela.”
Melai’s daughter, Stela, apparently has a little crush on Donny—something fans found both adorable and relatable.
