Vice Ganda returns to ‘It’s Showtime,’ thanks fans with free fast food treat

Vice Ganda made a triumphant return to ‘It’s Showtime’ on Saturday, August 16, after being absent for several days, and he celebrated with heartfelt thanks, a touch of humor, and even a promise of free fast food for the audience.

“I’m so happy to be back! Nakapagpahinga na ako,” the comedian-host exclaimed on stage. He added in jest, “Gumagalaw na ‘yung legs ko ulit. Humaba ‘yung tulog ko, nai-relax ko ‘yung legs ko, ‘yung tuhod ko lumambot na ulit, at ‘yung daliri ko sa paa gumagalaw na ulit.”

Vice expressed his deep gratitude to those who supported his two-night ‘Super Divas’ concert with Regine Velasquez-Alcasid at the Araneta Coliseum.

“Gusto kong magpasalamat sa lahat ng mga nanood, at dumagsa sa Araneta Coliseum ng dalawang gabi sa ‘SuperDivas’ concert namin ni Miss Regine Velasquez-Alcasid,” he said. “Maraming-maraming salamat sa nag-uumapaw na pagmamahal ng Madlang People. I am really very happy! Thank You Lord at naitawid!”

Fellow host Ogie Alcasid lauded the show’s success, saying, “Hindi lang naitawid, with flying colors pa!” to which Vice quipped, “Yes, with flying colors. At talagang flying si Regine Velasquez. Hahahaha!”

The Unkabogable Star also thanked ABS-CBN management for their support.

“At gusto ko ring magpasalamat sa management ng ABS-CBN, for the support sa concert ko, personal silang nagpunta sa Araneta para panoorin ang concert namin ni Miss Regine.”

As a gesture of gratitude, Vice made a playful but crowd-pleasing promise to treat the live studio audience to McDonald’s after the show.

“At dahil sa pasasalamat ko sa pagmamahal niyo, lahat kayo dito ililibre ko sa McDonald’s mamaya. After It’s Showtime didiretso tayo sa McDonald’s… Dahil love niyo ako, love ko kayo, love ko ‘to!”

The announcement was met with cheers both inside the studio and from his online followers.

Vice also proudly shared another career milestone: his nomination for Best Actor at the FAMAS Awards.

His return to television came a week after he drew backlash from supporters of former president Rodrigo Duterte, who criticized his “jet ski holiday” skit during the Super Divas concert. Some groups even called for him to be declared persona non grata in Davao City.

While Vice has not directly addressed the controversy, several personalities, including Palace Press Officer Claire Castro and ACT Teachers Rep. Antonio Tinio, have defended him.

For now, however, Vice is choosing to focus on gratitude.

“Sa lahat ng mga tao na nagmamahal sa akin, araw-araw ko pong ipinagdiriwang ang pagmamahal niyo sa akin,” he told the It’s Showtime audience.
