Agot Isidro demands transparency: ‘Isapubliko ang ICI hearings!’

Veteran actress Agot Isidro has called on the government to make public the ongoing hearings of the Independent Commission for Infrastructure (ICI), which is currently investigating the alleged irregularities in multi-billion peso flood control projects.

In a series of posts on X (formerly Twitter) on Sunday, Agot questioned why the proceedings — which are funded by taxpayers’ money — are not open to public scrutiny.

“Sila-sila na nag-aaway. Tayo, mga audience lang? Ganun na lang?” she wrote. “Dapat may say tayo sa mga nangyayari. Dapat parte tayo ng mga imbestigasyon, bilang tayo naman ang nagpapasweldo sa kanila.”

The actress, known for her outspoken stance on political and social issues, emphasized that the public deserves access to the commission’s discussions, documents, and evidence.

“Suggestion ko lang, dapat ‘yung ICI, ibukas ang talakayan sa publiko. ‘Yung mga documents at ebidensya, ilabas. Kung may meeting, payagan ang media na mag-cover,” she said, underscoring the importance of transparency and accountability.

Agot also reminded officials that the commission’s operations are funded by citizens’ taxes.

“We demand transparency. We demand inclusivity. Pera namin ‘yang ginagastos niyo. Bakit tinatago sa amin?” she added.

Her post quickly gained traction online, with many Filipinos praising her courage in speaking out and echoing her call for openness.

The Independent Commission for Infrastructure (ICI) was established by the Marcos administration in September 2025 to investigate alleged anomalies in the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) flood control projects — an issue that has sparked nationwide outrage following reports of corruption and kickbacks involving several public officials.
