President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. reportedly responded with a smile to Sharon Cuneta’s lighthearted remark during the star-studded ‘Evening with the Stars’ event.

Before performing some of her well-loved hits, the Megastar drew laughter from the audience when she addressed the President with a playful political quip.
“Sir, I only have one vice president, my date tonight,” Cuneta said, referring to her husband, Senator Kiko Pangilinan.
She then added, “Mali your choice, no?! Sorry, okay, okay, let’s move on.”
The comment, referencing the 2022 vice presidential race, elicited laughs from the crowd.
According to Presidential Spokesperson Claire Castro, the President took the remark in stride.
“Kung iyon po ang opinyon ni Ate Shawie, ni Miss Sharon Cuneta at malamang karamihan sa ating mga kababayan ay ‘yan din po ang nararamdaman. So opinyon po ‘yun ni Miss Sharon Cuneta at nakita po natin na napangiti lamang ang ating Pangulo,” Castro said in an interview.
Following the event, Cuneta took to Instagram to call for unity and support for the administration.
“So much going in in our country, most of them bad. Let us let the President do his job and complete his work before we allow ourselves to judge him. It is our country we need to prioritize now. God bless the Philippines. ❤️”
Her post sparked mixed reactions online. Some netizens expressed disappointment and announced they would unfollow her, while others praised her message and commended her for promoting unity.
Despite the divided responses, Cuneta kept her comment section open and did not limit public interaction.
The “Evening with the Stars” gathering, attended by prominent figures from politics and entertainment, maintained a celebratory tone throughout, with Cuneta’s performance standing out as one of the highlights of the evening.
