“Jejemom,” GMA-7’s weekly comedy series, begins airing on Saturday, Aug. 14 after “Kaya ng Powers.”
Award-winning box office comedienne Eugene Domingo plays the lead role as Gigi, or Jejemom, a single parent with an outrageous sense of humor. Always clad with a multi-colored outfit, Gigi has also a multi-number of jobs: Single parent to her son G-Boy (Robert “Buboy” Villar) and elder sister to Lovely (Jennica Garcia), and her being the trusted barangay secretary.
She manages to keep her family in its humble ways, though it is dysfunctional most of the time. Suddenly, their lives are turned upside down when by mistake, she receives a text message exposing the whereabouts of a certain Lady Gangsta, the leader of a kidnapping syndicate.
Eugene said she would not mind having a kissing scene with Wendell Ramos, her leading man.
The comedian is known for kissing her leading men.
Asked how does she compare herself with Ai-Ai delas Alas, Eugene said she never compares herself with anyone especially with Ai-Ai. “I’m not interested in the title, but I simply concentrate myself on my work!”
Eugene is one of the busiest actresses, doing several projects with GMA-7.
Others in the cast are Gelli de Belen as Bunny, the wife of the highly influential but dubiously masculine official Winston (Ricky Davao). Chariz Solomon as Gigi’s kikay housekeeper; Carl Guevarra as Jhong, Lovely’s Internet addict boyfriend, and Bayani Agbayani as Chief Marangya, the barangay’s chief of police.
