Bishop Pedro Arigo of Puerto Princesa exposes the irregularities of the Malampaya natural gas project

Broadcast journalist Henry Omaga-Diaz will look into the alleged misuse of revenue generated from the Malampaya natural gas project in Palawan tomorrow (Oct 25) in “Krusada.”

In an exclusive interview, Bishop Pedro Arigo of Puerto Princesa will expose the said irregularities from the bidding until the implementation of the project, which extracts natural gas from the waters of Palawan. It has earned $8.9 billion since 2002, according to Congress.

The Commission on Audit (COA) previously released a report that revealed the Malampaya funds has financed projects of government agencies that have nothing to do with energy development. Only a small fraction of the funds was also said to have used for electrification of communities in the country.

Aside from that, the Malampaya project has also funded ghost projects and the overpricing of road and bridge repair in the provincial government and congressional districts of Palawan.

Because it takes more than words to take a stand, watch “Krusada” tomorrow (Oct 25) after “Bandila” on ABS-CBN or watch it earlier on DZMM TeleRadyo (SkyCable Channel 26), 9:15 p.m. For updates on the program, follow @krusadaTV on Twitter or like www.facebook.com/Krusada.
