The most diverse ultimate showdown of Filipino talents happens this Saturday (June 1) and Sunday (June 2) as the country’s biggest and grandest talent-reality show “Pilipinas Got Talent” concludes its fourth season via its much-awaited grand finals to be held at the PAGCOR Grand Theater in Paranaque.

From 29,000 hopefuls who auditioned worldwide and online, only six acts remain to compete for the coveted title as the fourth PGT Grand Winner and win a whopping P2 million cash prize.

The final six includes daring dancers from Batangas, D’ Intensity Breakers; ringman from Tondo, Frankendal Fabroa; driving heartthrobs from Manila, Lateral Drift Productions; unconventional acoustic trio from Davao, the MP3 band; child prodigy from Bukidnon, Roel Manlangit; and blacklight dancers from Pasig, Zilent Overload.

Since season one, “Pilipinas Got Talent” has not only realized the dreams of hopefuls that have set foot on the PGT stage, but has also changed their lives in many ways.

Just like the boys of D’ Intensity Breakers who will give everything just to win PGT even if it means having to perform with a broken arm, which one of them did during the quarterfinals. The dance group was formed in one of the famous plazas in Lipa, Batangas by their leader Arjay and most of them didn’t really have formal training in dancing or death-defying stunts back then. Every day they work hard to pursue their dreams as a group and at the same time work hard to survive since some of them work as ballot vendors, jeepney barkers, garbage collectors, fishball vendors, etc.

If the boys of D’ Intensity Breakers are out on the streets to find a living, Frankendal Fabroa went as far as going to Japan just to earn and provide for his family. Now dubbed as the ringman of Tondo for his amazing dance act that makes use of metal rings, the now single dad went through a tough time when he separated from his wife and even lost one of his children. His stint in PGT paved the way for him to reconnect with his wife again.

As for drifting hotties Gio and Ralph of Lateral Drift Productions, they may be well-off in life but they share the same amount of thirst and passion in winning the competition as the other grand finalists. They started drifting and racing during their teenage years, and their being finalists in PGT already made a mark as they are the first car drifting act in the history of the program. With their good looks and rare talent, Gio and Ralph instantly gained popularity, especially among female fans.

Meanwhile, like any other aspiring music artists, Aries, LJ, and Makoy of MP3 band consider being on the show their much-awaited break to get into the local music scene. As musicians, they hope to create a new genre in music that fuses acoustic guitars, rap, conventional Pinoy music, and beatboxing. They may have not won the competition yet but MP3 band has already established its own fan base and has created a strong following among music fans online.

Also out to prove himself is YouTube sensation 13-year-old Roel Manlangit. PGT’s youngest grand finalist this season is not new to fame as he first created a buzz online. With more than 2 million views on YouTube and a growing number of local and international fans, Roel is set to rebuild his family’s life with his talent especially after their home was washed out during Typhoon Pablo.

The dream doesn’t seem that far as well for this season’s biggest contingent Zilent Overload, which is composed of 39 members. Just like their black light dance, all 39 of them have experienced being though very dark times as they were all victims of typhoon Ondoy and Habagat. Despite this, they managed to gather themselves up and worked hard for their passion to perform. The group used to work in a junkshop so that they could buy their props and costumes. But after being seen on PGT, they can now easily solicit funds from their neighbors and friends.

The grand finalists’ fate solely lies in the hands of the viewing public as winners will be determined based on the results of the combined online and text votes.

Who among the six acts will emerge on top? Who will impress Big Three judges Kris Aquino, Ai Ai Delas Alas, and Freddie “FMG” Garcia? Who will follow the footsteps of PGT season one’s Jovit Baldivino, PGT season two’s Marcelito Pomoy, and PGT season three’s Maasinhon Trio?

Don’t miss the final performance night this Saturday (June 1) after “MMK,” and find out who will become grand winner this season in the final results night on Sunday (June 2), after “Rated K” on ABS-CBN. Tweet your thoughts on the show using the hashtag #PGT4.
