Something unusual is happening at Life Rocks concert this October 22 at the Newport Performing Arts Theater, Resorts World Manila. Life Rocks concert will feature Imago, Sandwich, Radioactive Sago Project, Tres Marias, Razorback, Megan Aguilar, Ebe Dancel, and Marc Abaya -—all collaborating with the Manila Symphony Orchestra. This rock meets orchestra concert is a combination of iconic, classic rock music with the professional mastery of the Manila Symphony Orchestra and under musical direction of Francis de Veyra of the Radioactive Sago Project, will truly rock your world.
Aside from the best of the Philippine music scene in their most moving, collaborative performances, the first staging of Life Rocks concert will also serve as a venue to educate people on how to be prepared in calamities such as Yolanda which severely hit Visayas region last year. Typhoon Yolanda was recorded to be the biggest storm that ravaged the Philippines last weekend. An estimate of more than 10,000 lives had perished all over Northern Visayas making the typhoon the deadliest natural calamity in the country’s history.
With the devastation of previous calamities that ravaged the country, many lives have been put to a state of halt, leaving families incapacitated. The storms may have passed, but the challenge to rebuild the lives of affected families continues.
This is the reason why AVA Prime Media & Events, in partnership with the Philippine Life Insurance Association, put up a concert series that aims to contribute to the continuing efforts in rebuilding the lives of our incapacitated brothers and sisters across the country. Proceeds shall be for the scholarship of those who have been orphaned by calamities that ravaged the country. The selection process shall be via the institutional partnership with Museo Pambata and the scholarship program of the Manila Symphony Orchestra. A documentary will follow the stories of the beneficiaries for one year.
Life Rocks is the first of many events that comprises the launch and advocacy of the upcoming music lifestyle show -— The Line Up -—which begins airing November 2014. The producers will make a formal reveal on which network it will air in the coming weeks. The Line Up is an original AVA Prime creation.
